I fell in love. I geared up. I got a Yamaha YZ125. Now I’m ready to learn how to ride.
Trav’s dad shared his love of dirt bikes with him more than 20 years ago. It wore off. He’s developed quite the love for Motocross. Years of experience has given Trav a wealth of knowledge. I’m lucky to have him for my coach. He’s the best.
I’m in my thirties, have two little girls and a very demanding job (pro lifestyle photographer/billy goat), so safety is a priority and Travis is on top of it. The goal is for me to learn proper form and technique from the ground up. We also spend a ton of time talking through possible situations that could come up on the track and how to best respond.
Right now, we are focused here:
- Always look ahead.
- Create that rectangle with your arms. Elbows up!
- Squeeze the bike like crazy between your knees.
- Twist the throttle like a doorknob. Steady!
I highly recommend checking out MX Factory on YouTube. Trav introduced me to them and they’re so legit. They have created some amazing content. Whether you’re a beginner or perfecting your craft, I promise you’ll learn something valuable.
I’m currently rocking the following products (apparently this is called a lit kit):
- Fox Racing V1 Werd Helmet
- Fly Racing Focus Goggles
- Fly Racing Women’s Lite Racewear
- Fox Racing Comp Boot
- Fox Racing Race Subframe Guard
- Bilt Kids Charger Knee Guards
- Fly Racing Women’s Pro Lite Gloves
I learn so much each time I ride. It feels like a major download. I look forward to every track day and can’t wait to learn more and become more comfortable on the bike and around the track.
We love riding at Rio Bravo, 3 Palms and Freedom MX in the Houston Area.
